The one Arlanda quoted. Or to be exact, the unproven allegation that Google is taking webmasters' ad revenue without their knowledge. Without knowing for sure, you post that statement, and pretty soon it could be on thousands of blogs quoting you.
I can't understand why anyone would use blogger over downloading & installing wordpress...is it just to save on a hosting account?
i always use widget html/javascript rather than blogger adsense integration. but i'm still not sure about this matter(sharing/steal revenue). recently i came across this site which offer the same features (share revenue rate) other than blogger.com. 01. dada.net (15%) 02. thevideosense.com(don't know) anyone know this? help please.
Well, one day I woke up to find that all my impressions from a Blogger hosted blog disappeared. I had normal traffic the previous day but no impressions. I went to the blog and it was working fine including Google ads. I looked at the code and found the google_ad_host line and started to wonder if someone hacked into my account. I simply deleted the line and got all my impressions back. There is absolutely no information from Google on this subject. Why did they do it? Why haven't they published it on their website? Why did my impressions disappear and then came back as soon as I got rid of this line?
Im not to fussed. I see it the way that there letting me use blogs for free, where i don't have to pay a cent.
Use wordpress for alternative when you create blog. I use wordpress software on my weblog diary. It's cool. You can put adsense code by your hand.. cool
There are some free plugins that have the writers adding their info in there to get extra cash. You should always check your themes, esp if preloaded with adsense. No way they leave the number blank. They will always fill it with their own. I recently had a plugin that didn't work if you took the link out of it, so I killed that right away. I don't mind giving a link, jsut not in the sidebar where it was. It was ugly. Anyway, the point is to just be careful with any revenue making plugins/themes. Cheers!
Note that Revenue sharing is implemented by Google when they opened up their Adsense API. Anyone can share the revenue of the site users, ONLY if they referred them. They use a sort of SOAP API implementation to do this. Google for more info.
That page proves absolutely nothing. Unless you mean that Blogger promotes AdSense, which I think everyone will agree on. Nowhere on the page does it say that Blogger takes some of the impressions or revenue that your blog generates. Or am I completely blind?
