    Hello to all of you
today while surfing the web i discovered a very amazing thing that one website had used a special technique to make the adsense ad block appear transparent !!
However there is no change in the actual adsense ad code(they use css to do this)
so do you guys think that this is legal?
i may try to contact google adsense help but their help recently sucks regarding reviewing ad placements(they do no more review ad placements at large)
so i want to ask some of you experienced guys if such an ad modification is allowed or not.
i am sure you guys will be amazed to see the semi-transparent google ads

here goes the url(its not my website ;-)

    http://www.whatbody.com/en/?n=in

    definitely post your views here

technically its not, and you can get banned for it. But I have seen several sites do this, its nothing new. I am pretty sure they would warn you first if they made a deal out of it. Personally with all this web 2.0 (gradients) I think this should be allowed, but I guess thats a decision for the big G to make.

that could be true, might want to email them on this. I am sure they get these all the time, so you will get a prompt answer.

no i am not getting any prompt answer from google regarding adsense placements
I tried emailing them regarding another different ad placement yesterday and they replied back saying to look up the TOS and decide about it myself since they are receiving a lot of similar questions so they cannot reply individually.
    it s**ks

why would you want to do that? I'd think you would want the ad to stand out more so people definately see it

The answer is simple, to match the design.
Unfortunately, until 100% transparency can be achieved, this sux

But it effects the look of the advertisement, if I am a advertiser I would not want my ad that I am paying for to be transparent.

I haven't personally tested this method, but I really believe doing this would not help to increase CTR. You'd be much better choosing an opposite matching color which would stand out from the crowd.

    Or to get banned quick?

The guy is obviously trying to get accidental clicks.

Edit: Oh snap, I'll be a president <insert bush's pic here> in my afterlife. :\
