    Hi

I have VBulletin forum, and open the topic, put a picture and write a description and put the warez links (rapidshare) in attachements.

    Is this legal?

    Thank you.

Well it all depends if your host allows warez linking. (It really don't have anything to do with vBulletin((Pretty(All they care about it is that your copy is legal))

You're just doing what thousands of others do, so yes, the authorities really couldn't care less.

Also, the product you're selling in your signature is public. How ignorant to think you can profit from it.

    lol

Just because the authorities don't care, doesn't make it legal.....you can still be sued.

To date, not a single warez linking forum has been sued or come under any legal issues. (apart from DMCA notices)

madrwz, you do realize that just because it hasn't happened yet, that it doesn't mean it won't happen right? You are over in Europe, you have no idea how the american legal system is if you think it won't happen. Its going to happen sooner or later. The biggest reason the links haven't been brought down is because the copyright owners are concentrating on getting the actual hosts of the content.

No need to jump to conclusions.
Just because I reside in Europe, doesn't mean I'm not aware of how the American judicial system works. I am myself, American.

That aside, a small warez forum isn't going to come under legal issues. I never said it won't happen, I said it hasn't happened yet. When it does happen, the first to go will be one of the larger forums -- and 'till that happens, he's relatively safe.

It's not as simple as "making warez linking illegal", as you so imply.

Actually it is quite simple and cut and dry what the law is.

I agree, a small forum has a better chance of slipping through the cracks. Or the companys could go after them first to get case law established and not have to spend too much money fighting it, then tackle the bigger fish. Depends on the legal strategy. I for one wouldn't want to be in the AO of where those companys target.
