Aside from unrealistic resolutions, would you trust an organization that sent 2000 UN peacekeepers into S. Lebanon to oversee and enforce the Res. 1559 after Israeli pullout from Lebanon in 2000. Besides the fact that these people are unarmed, didn't they see that someting fishy was going with Hezbollah arming themselves up to their teeth? And now, when the July conflict started, UN's response to it: we'll send another 8,000 peace keepers (unarmed as well). Does it make any sense to anyone??? UN and Lebanese govt failed to enforce the resolution. How can Israel trust and follow their judgements? I am not even talking about the general anti-Israeli stance that UN takes in 90% of the cases when there is a need to resolve a conflict related to the region.
Oh, and who do you think is heading UN's effort to investigate into Iran's nuclear program? An Iranian representative to the UN!!!
