Wanted: Your opinions about header graphics

I recently requested a site review for one of my blogs and was gives high praise for it. The only suggestion was that I add a header graphic, which I did.

I had not added a header graphic to that particular site, as I thought the site looked good without it. But I've since added a banner-type header graphic to it.

Well, I've got another site, now, and, again, I have no header graphic posted on it. In this case, I think the font face (Palatino Linotype) of the Blog Title is header-graphic enough for the type of blog it is (a breaking-news type blog).

Please go take a look and tell me what you think??? :D

    Thank you in advance!!

BTW, I love this forum. You guys are the greatest!

Yes, I'm agree with you, it could be enough. I like this font, it's niche related. Well done, nice graphic and content!

I don't know man, the theme looks colorful, like a rainbow on your site. It's not a good idea for professional looking sites.

You don't need header graphic for this theme, maybe a logo.

I understand what you're saying! In a professional business blog, whitespace is an absolute must!

However, in this blog, I'm trying to relax the "business" aspect of it. Granted, it's more of a site built for Adsense, and will be hard to promote for any one particular niche, but it gives me something different to do everyday and that's what I hope to get across to readers. Kind of a "And now, for something completely different"--sort of thing. I focus on Google's Hot Trends and look for stuff that people are likely to buy... the resulting Adsense ads that end up on the post pages are right down their alley.

But they don't necessarily feel like they're having the adverts shoved in their faces, this way, which, as you know, people hate.

But I do appreciate what you're saying about "professional" looks and whitespace. We are in accord!

I'm glad you see what I'm talking about! Thank you for your input! The Palatino Linotype font, I think, makes it a very "Newspaper" kind of look.

Nice site, nice design, easy to navigate, good use of colours, and good choice on the font as well.

Best of luck with the site!

    Kind Regards

The template and the page layout is nice but I do not like the colors.

Thanks everyone, for your input. Honestly, I think my gut instinct was right. SOME blogs will be okay without a header, but it depends on the blog's design and/or purpose.

Of course, the proof is in the outcome, i.e. how popular it becomes or, if site-flipping, how much it goes for.

    You guys rock!
