I don't think you only need to update your wordpress press plugin to prevent yourself from getting hacked again. Ya, its one of important steps to protect yourself. Its depends how your site was hacked - defaced ??? You need to get your ftp protected. Whenever hacker deface your site, they first check for your ftp vulnerability. And tell you, 90% of hosts are vulnerable. Nyways, as far as upgrade is concerned, i can do that. For more, i need to have control of your control panel - so that i can check if you don't allow directories to be listed. Also, i can check for your host's vulnerability. But have me as your last option, since i can't update your wordpress plugins and its plugins code to check for bugs. And i really doubt if ny1 could, but still they can correct known bugs. But one thing is, your site is never fully secured. You can just make it tough for crackers but not hackers (elite hackers ).

if someone keeps hacking your blog, then it is a possibility that they somehow got the admin access or know how to get around it. did you change your admin panel login and your database login? i would start from there
