I dont have a project at this moment but I wanted to have them ready for when I do. 1. eCommerce - most likely these would be pretty straight forward projects using ecommerce platforms. But I would want someone that can do custom work when needed even a full custom cart. we would provide the design. the programmer would need to install the platform, customize the template and install any modules or plugins to make the platform more user and search engine friendly. We do not have a specific platforms that we would need to be used. 2. You guys might want to check out QBaroo. www.qbaroo.com they host eCommerce shopping carts (as well as design work, hosting, etc etc). for a pretty cheap rate. You also don't need a merchant account, payment gateway etc, they take care of all of it.
I am now looking at Interpsire or Magento, but I will look at others. What I am looking for is design and full install/set-up. Also, the platform must have an integrated newsletter system but what my client really wants is an automated segmented newsletter system. Each category of the website would have its own newsletter. For example, if a user signs up for specials deals on category 1 on Tuesday he would get a lifts newsletter immediately. He would get a second newsletter on Thursday, third on Friday and fourth on Saturday. Each category would have its own template. Some categories may use the same template. The templates for these newsletters would stay the same but my client would be able to change the text, products, prices, images and links.
