Say, I have 3 websites: www.website1.com, www.website2.com, and www.website3.com. The situation is: website1.com has a traditional <a href> link to website3.com. There is a tracker installed on website3.com. When I click on a link, the tracker shows that I came from website1.com. The task is: 1. how to make (programmatically?) such a link that will cause the tracker to display website2.com as a referrer, but not website1.com? website2.com must be ant text string starting with "http://". 2. the referring page at website1.com must be encoded: when someone wants to view the its source, some random symbols should be displayed. I'll pay anyone to help me with that. -Fred
<?php $referrer = 'http://' . $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER']; ?> and then just use some javascript encoding on it, i think http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/jsref_unescape.asp will do
You can only do that if you own all three websites. The users browser stores this information and you cannot edit it directly. If you owned both sites you would do this: <a href="site2">click</a> this would take you to site two who would redirect to site 3 Otherwise I don't see it possible, unless you can hack the clients browser
I was googling and I found this, i'm also interested in this trick, I just don't understand how to do it unescape encoding..
