If you don't even know the subject, how do you know it's going to be big? Norad had a good suggestion with porn. Sex sells and it attracts visitors like the clappers.

I think you will have three ways to choose sites 1 . entertainment 2. professional 3. porn and others. I think your not interested in porn . so its better to choose entertainment or professional you might know about entertainment like movies, songs and other stuff.. but coming to professional like hosting,webmaster and other you must have some experience and touch with the topic.
