Want your suggestion for making a directory

Hi everybody,
I want to make a directory.I want to know whether it will be better if i have a theme directory or general directory.And I want an example of a site by which i can realise how to make it.I want to know which will be the best way to earn through.I will be glad to hear from you all.

 

Here are some of my advice...

1. Dont expect to make money overnight.
2. Building a successful directory takes time and hard work.
3. Directory may be niche or general, but it depends on effort you put into.

Pick a niche topic that you know really well and have a lot of enthusiam and interest for.

 

I recommend a theme directory because there
are enough good general directories. For examples
see the signatures of DP members in directory
section. You will find a lot.

I suggest you to first add manually. This way you
will list important sites and gain visitor credibility.
Then go for Sponsored Listings. Throughout, test
with AdSense.
