Iam not expert but i would like to tell you my views.I think salary in both this fields are almost equal, you must join the field which you like and it will take you to long run and will surely make your work enjoyable. If i would be in your place i would have select Software Eng post as its good work i love to code and image of Software Eng in my location is also good and anyways i love that job so i would have selected that but currently no way to go to job.

I would say that it really depends on your interest. Even if a field has a lot of opportunities but it doesn't interests you, you should not go for it. However, I would go with Software Engineering. :)

I am a software engineer so I guess I'll have to say um...well...maybe...software engineer? The catch is that you are looking at two drastically different professions, one is fairly straight forward dealing with hardware and networking, which requires decent trouble shooting skills, but not a lot of creativity. Software engineering is the more creative and technical of the two and gives more opportunity to be inventive and outside the box with your work.

Software enineer would be a great choice. I hear that it pays quite well but I believe it's a harder course to take.

I would prefer Systems and Network Engineering. Nowadays most companies prefer in-house team rather than outsource on this area. However, when it comes to software, most are under contract engage from external software companies. In other words, better job opportunities and opening. However, this may not be the trend at all countries.
