Hi Guys, Thought I would write up a quick post for those of you that are struggling trying to get your first sale. When you first start out online and see you see all the products, people making $$$'s and competition that all seem to be computer gurus it can be a bit daunting so this is to help you out. The key when getting started is to focus on ONE thing or one path of promotion! The process I am going to tell you now is free, but takes time, stick with it and you will get more than just one sale. Go to Clickbank and pick a good product, take a lot at the gravity and also the referred rate, what I normally do is look for a high gravity and a lower referred rate, if the referred rate is lower it means the actual owner of the product is getting some sales themselves which is always good to see! Do not go near MMO (make money online) products just yet, think about niches like music, gaming, crafts, art, health, etc... No-one will tell you the best products to promote, just look through the sales pages and check that the page and sales copy are good. The main questions being "If you were looking for a solution to this problem, do you believe the product solves it?", "Would you buy it?" Once you have your product then take a look at Google adwords keyword tool >> https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal have a look at the main phrases, for an idea of searches and also for competition. Next go to Google and see if there is anyone promoting the product. Are there Adwords there? If so this is good as it normally means that there is a market for the product. OK, once you have picked your product then pick 3 – 4 main key phrases. Then go to Blogger.com and set up a blog and just write your blog entry remembering to make some anchor link text with your main key phrase, this can go through to your affiliate link. Also answer the questions on your blog. Do not just put: "I bought this product and it works" – write an honest review if you have bought the product, if you haven't put your opinion of the product and tell people what it is meant to solve and how. Next go to blog.com and set up another blog in much the same way, but remember to put fresh content on this one. Also on the blog.com blog make some anchor text that links through to blogger.com as your main keyword. Next go to digg.com and digg both of these blogs and ping them with pingomatic as well. Now you need to go to http://www.prlog.org/ and write up a press release, if you don't know how take a look at the rules there, and others peoples for ideas. Now we move onto http://www.free-press-release.com/ and write up a press release there and link both of those press releases together with anchor text. Now you need to write up 5 articles and post to Ezine Articles linking to your blog/s Same for Articles Base Same for Go articles. Ping everything with pingomatic and set up an account at Onlywire.com so you can bookmark at all the major sites. Make a youtube video and link to your blog and upload using tubemogul.com – linking this back to your blog. Update both of those blogs everyday linking back to your new sites, articles as you create them. If you keep going you will see more than one sale! Now get going and make some money! Chris
hey chris, thanks for sharing, that's a good strategy actually.. the only thing i'd like to ask: when do we ping all submitted articles using pingomatic? after getting approvals or straight away after we submit all articles even though all those articles have not yet been approved/published?
You would ping the articles once they have been approved. No sense pinging an article that is not approved yet because A) no one can see it until it is approved and B) if the article is declined for any reason, you pinged it for nothing.
Ping traditionally meant to send a website a sample piece of data, and the website would send it right back to you. I believe it was to confirm that a connection was established. Ping, in terms of blogging, seems to be just telling a search engine that your blog exists. It will usually index a lot faster that way. Google's Blog Ping Service: (Doesn't give a whole lot of info) http://blogsearch.google.com/ping Code (markup):
ok so when i write an article at blogger.com should i include my full hoplink or can i hide it with html
Thanks man, I hope it helps! I tend to create products and market them now more than just focus on being an affiliate, but I do use this strategy to test out a niche. How many sales have I made with this strategy? Well I haven't counted....Alot! I have been doing this strategy and others like it for over 4 years now so it works, you can sure of that. lol, you may have seen an article or 2 You wait until your articles are live to ping them, also ping everything you do, blog posts, press releases as soon as they are live. Ping justs lets the web know that you have created new content, and anchor text is this: Anchor Text So it is a link made up of, in this case, your main keyphrase. See above ^ Cheers man, this is more or less how i got started so should help some of the newer DP'ers
Wow... Your tips really made me to get an idea how to get first sales. I am struggling after making two sales for the past two months. I'll follow your tips to get at least two sales per month. This is my goal. I am promoting this product - Chicken Coop. (Do you like this product? )
