This is nothing like stumbleupon its about a million miles away from it. Its a traffic exchange and if you use adsense on your websites you will be banned. Nobaody uding these scripts is interested in viewing the sites that are on there sinply how many hits they get.
The sites that have been using it for over six years haven't been banned. You are probably comparing to those automated scam scripts, this is just an automated way to view quality sites. However this service is free so if you do not want to use it I do not care whatsoever.
