Hiya, If you have a legal Vbulletin license i know that Vbulletin in there client have area have there own transfering program which will transfer all the php data (users, posts, forums , topics etc etc) and moves it all over to the vbulletin , i think all people have to do then is request a new password and thats it, But vbulletin defently have there oown transfering tool.

Just use the free impex script that comes with vbulletin. The only thing that will not be converted are the passwords.

If you go tothe vbulletin.com forum there is a lot of information about using the impex script. I used it a few years ago to convert an SMF forum to VB, everything went good with no issues.

If you transfer the files etc perfectly then your posts etc will not be gone/removed.

Admittedly, vBulletin does not have the best transferring system, but as long as you don't have a lot of phpBB Modifications installed on your forum, the transfer will go just fine. :)
