lol Yeah. Sorry - should have put the username there. Just saw that link above when I was typing my response, thought about one of my old rocker clients in particular, and thought "Oh God, please don't encourage people to write like that!" lol I've worked with a lot of musicians of varying levels, and I can only think of about a handful that can even string coherent sentences together. ;)

I would say that if you enjoy researching and writing articles then
copywriting should be the next step. Why? Because it pays more
    and is more challenging.

You can decide HOW you want to get started by reading books
on copywriting or taking a course. That's the easy part. The
harder part is breaking into the market that is becoming more
    and more competitive.

When I started about 6 years ago, there were only 7 other
copywriters advertising in Google Adwords--now there are
    a lot more.

This shouldn't discourage you from getting started though since
there is a ton of work that's needed in this field. You just
    have to find your niche.

Copywriting and article writing are completely different. I'm not involved with either of them, but I've hired numerous copywriters and article writers in the past. Copywriting is an art. I agree with what Mattern said, you need to have a good background in marketing first.

I'd recommend you reading The Ultimate Sales Letter by Dan Kennedy, and browsing the Warrior forum for a wealth of information.

Jenn: I'm actually thinking of changing the blog's name already since the content's shifting more and more towards freelancing and not writing. BTW, I'm a musician myself too and still struggling to make decent sentences until now. lol

Ray: Hi Ray, welcome to DP! I've seen a lot of your posts at the Warrior Forums and I always learn something new from you!
