i want to start a search engine i ready many articles
i understood auto crawler is the best code to use that meta search


which is better auto crawler or meta search

no problem with server i have very good dedicated servers

suggest me a good search engine script(auto crawler)
budget:500$ to 1000$

I think this script can be good for you http://lucene.apache.org/nutch/
I never used it but I saw on some small search engines.
It's a free so you can use your budget for some additional custom programming.

In my opinion auto crawler is better because you have control over results and you don't risk to pay high license fee to big engines.
However the advantage of meta is you can mix ppc feed in the results and increase your earning.

You can't look at Google's source code... He just want's to make his own search engine, like me.

 

You can do that with any script.

Its an old post I know but its worth the bump.
Lucence is the best out there in my opinion.
Digg uses it, SourceForge uses it plus several other notable mentions...
