    Take a look at e-junkie. It costs about $5 a month but is well worth it as it provides tons of features, starting from managing downloads, ending up with an affiliate program.

    You could use the 7 Dollar Secret Script. It has a paypal and affiliate program built into it and will only cost you $7. Let me know if you want a link. I am an affiliate, but I don't want you to think the only reason I answered is to get the affiliate commission.

    You can easily google "7 dollar secret script" and find other people promoting the script, so you always have that option too.

    I've used the 7 dollar secret script on a few different products. My most recent is: Massively Profitable Reports - if you want to see the script in action.

    Hope I helped!

    I want to second the suggestion of e-junkies. A few people from this forum recommended them to me, and they're really the way to go. You pay 5 bucks a month and they take care of everything for you. Couldn't be easier.

    I would recomend you skip the middle man service to save on fee.
    Instead use script such as digitaldeliveryshoppingcart

    @organicCyborg: yup. Plus if you google around a bit you'll quickly come across voucher codes which give you a 180-day free trial.

    @mentos: that's the way to go if you're working on an EXTREMELY tight budget (although if one can't make enough sales to justify paying $5 a month then probably it's not the right business for them), however, using your own service does have some major disadvantages, to name a few:
    * you have to worry about your download link getting leaked, unless you can find a free script that has the capability of generating personal download links that expire;
    * handling the script and the downloads generally takes a lot of time and I'm not sure about the OP but for me, time is money and for $5 I would agree to work for even 20 minutes.

    But obviously you need to go with the solution that best fits your needs. If you're only starting out and don't mind putting in some manual work then a free solution is the way to go. But whatever you do, make sure that you provide an instant download capability. Nothing kills your sales faster than having your customers wait X hours until they receive their e-book. (been there, done that.)

    I know that Zen Cart is a very popular open source shopping cart. You might also want to look into Magento, it is one of the newest shopping carts available and it is getting a lot of buzz.
