Hi, my site http://www.free-games-console.co.uk is currently 4th for the keyphrase "Free Ps3". But obviously i would like to be ranked 1. Any quick tips looking at my site vs my competitors i could use to help me rank higher! Also i am sick of searching dofollow blogs, to post my link in the comments, does this really help? What else could i do link building wise?
There are several main factors, which are the most important to get high ranking positions in Google! Keyword density, domain age, the average time spent by visitors on website pages and incoming link popularity are considered to be the most important for Google!
It really depends on how competitive the keyword is - if it is you need to launch full scale link exchange...
If it is very competitive you mean? What you mean a full scale link exchange? If i got a link exchange with all the sites in the top ten would it make a difference?
If it is very competitive you mean? What you mean a full scale link exchanfe? If i got a link exchange with all the sites in the top ten would it make a difference?
Don't ever wish to rank high quickly in Google, if you get, than you need to be ready for sudden fall.
I already rank 4th which is high isnt it? Just want to go further! So if i link exchange with all of the top 10 would it make a difference! If i could that is!?
A one way link exchange is not possible! How can i link exchange links one way? Do you mean build one way links?
<meta name="keywords" content="keywords go here"> I just had a quick glace at your site's source code. I think you just copy the template as per it is when you downloaded and use it. Insert your keyword in there rather than leaving it saying "keywords go here"
Look at keyword density for the keywords in question. Having combined 200% keyword density with title, keywords, description, body, h1h2h3, bold, body, and links will improve ranking for those keywords.
Since you are already NO 4 now. It is great chance you can rank no 1 if you work harder. Do following comment links from PR pages helps to rank.
I am a proponent of White Hat on-page optimization. Basically, follow the advice below: * Optimize title tag on site pages to include target keyword * Optimize meta tags on site pages to include target keyword * Create fresh and relevant content for your site (3-5 new articles per week) * Optimize page content on site pages to include target keyword * Create an internal link architecture to share page value (basically, link from subpages to your homepage and link from subpages to other subpages and link from homepage to subpages) -- give the link structure some thought and make it a clear navigation path. Use the target keyword in the anchor text -- use different variations of anchor text for internal links (mix -n- match) * Create alternate/image text for images -- include the target keyword when relevant and possible -- use different variations of keyword phrases for images (mix -n- match) * Create screen tips for text links -- include the target keyword when relevant and possible -- use different variations of keyword phrases for screen tips (mix -n- match) * Generate a robots.txt even if you allow all bots to every directory (NOTE: If you have a site which generates duplicate content, such as print pages, archive pages, etc. use the robots.txt to decrease duplicate content on the site) * Generate a new sitemap.xml file * Write frequent press releases which are content and keyword-rich when you have quality news about your site, product, or services -- include keyword-rich anchor text in your press release For off-page link building: * Write articles which will not be used on your site and submit article to article syndication directories...include keyword-rich anchor text links in your article author byline * Generate social bookmark/network links * Generate quality and relevant online directory links (niche directories are ideal) * Run a link exchange campaign and find highly relevant (non-competitive) link exchanges I should note, just because your site currently ranks #4 for your target keyword it doesn't mean you are on easy street. Many times you'll have to work just as hard (or harder) as someone who ranks #1000 for the target keyword if you want to reach #1 position. And sometimes it can take just as long...especially depending on the competitive strength of the target keyword. Good luck!
