Start with onpage optimization because it sux. Then focus on linkbuilding ( don`t limit just to whitehat because that just doesn`t work in your niche ) ^^.

 

The best way i've found to get google Page 1 is one way back links that are imbedded in anchor text inside content from relevant websites or blogs.
