Want to move to a new domain. Some questions.

I have a site which is hosted under a sub domain. Now I want to move that site to a seperate domain. Now here lies the problem. That site is hosted on blogger so I can't do a 301 redirect. So there are 2 options for me now.

    1. Start the new site and put up a message on the old site telling that the site has moved. The old website will no longer be updated and all new contents will be at the new site. Old site will continue to receive traffic from referring sites and search engines. Old subscribers will be automatically transferred to the new site.

    2. Start the new site and put up a message on the old site telling that the site has moved. Additionally transfer the entire old site to the new site so that a new visitor will find all old contents at the new site. That will save me from linking to contents at the old site.

    Which will be better?

With Option 1, I will have to always link to the old site.

On the other hand, option 2 has the issue of duplicate contents. Will that be a problem? Won't google know that both sites are owned by the same person, because of same webmaster account, adsense account etc?

Please advise me what will be the best option.

If i'm in your shoes,i will go for 2nd choice coz it does have many advantage over the first option.
For example, you can just get rid of the old site and no need to link to the old site.
And its make your site is more organize coz visitor can find all the content within 1 site not 2 site.
