Hi, i am getting resource reached error on wordpress. I know this is due to one of plugins.. My server is exceeding CPU usage limits and enteryprocesses. Currenly on my site i am getting more than 600000 page views per 24 hours. Site is about downloads site (warez) where users can post content . Which cms should i move to??
Stick to wordpress and fix the error. If you can't do it your self, hire some one to do it or upgrade/move to a better hosting account that allows more memory/cpu usages
I think you should choose Wordpress . Just fix the error or delete your plugin to make your website working
WordPress only. Because it offers great features and plugins. It also has many professional templates. So stick to the same and fix your issues.
6,00,000 page views per day???? (I don't believe it.) I don't think it is just because of one of the plugins. No matter what CMS you use these many visitors will remain to be a lot of burden on your server. (I still don't believe it). Even if you use another CMS, your resources will not be all available all of a sudden. (No, I don't believe it) So better upgrade your Server and make use of caching as much as possible to reduce server load. (I still do not believe it at all). A warez wordpress site, where users can post their content??? (I am not believing it)
Oh i mistakenly posted 6,00,000 its 60000. I have fixed the problem now. I deactivated all plugins and reactivated one by one and deleted some of them. Now site is running ok.. Server still showing CPU Usage 100 % but entery processes are low now... Psharma : yes its a warez website where users can submit their post. ( you should believe it ). I can send you link..
No, I was talking about not believing 600K visitors each day on that warez forum (and guess what, I turned out right! ) And if you are not using a good caching plugin yet, you are wasting nearly 10 times CPU.
If you are still at 100% usage... remember that there are TONS of things that can be done to a Wordpress site to speed it up and get your processing down. Consolidating Javascript and CSS files, removing unnecessary or bloated code, installing a cache plugin (as psharma said), reducing the size of images and/or using sprites, replacing bloated plugins with simpler ones or custom coded ones. Really depends on how much time/money you want to put into your site. I've seen large sites with lots of traffic who were crashing their server implement some of the above and not have to upgrade the server.
I think you should stick with wordpress. there are lots of things you can do to free up your resources and many experts who can get help from them. but if you decided to move from wordpress, drupal is the best choice to move onto.
I would say you to stick to Wordpress only and then also you want to move from it Drupal is not at all a bad choice.
What sort of plugins you are using at your WP site? Although I am bit hazy on how and why you're using WP for such high traffic site I am pretty sure the site can be optimized to balance the load.
I am using lazy load images plugin, quick cache plugin for handling traffic load. Now my site cpu usage only 30 - 40 % and entry processes to 2 to 4. So now site is working properly now...
Glad to hear that its working properly now. You may use W3TC for cache, it does wonders and eliminates the need to use other plugins like minify etc.
This is an issue to be dealt with your web hosting provider, not with your CMS. WordPress is excellent for high traffic sites and you should better upgrade your hosting and resolve the issues some other way.
Generally Wordpress is good enough and easy to manage but if you are really intended to change it then Drupal and Joomla are other good options.
Glad you got it all worked out, buddy. If you run into anymore issues let me know. I'm a WP specialist.
My starting point is that every site I do is Drupal or Wordpress, and the test is as follows. Drupal offers infinite possibilities including: 1) Different layout on every page using blocks (with far greater flexibility with some additional modules such as panels). 2) Programmatically assembled collections of content on a custom basis (with Views). 3) Social groups (with Organic Groups). 4) Decent discussion board. 5) Online store. 6) Mapping tools. 7) Multi-lingual tools. 8) Infinite customizable user roles (Wordpress has more than one role). 9) Customizable content types (Wordpress has two). If you need any of the above I would be tending towards Drupal. If a site does not need any of the above, I advise a client that they can save themselves a lot of cost, time and heartache by going with Wordpress. I tell them they can do the same in Drupal but they should be prepared to expect hosting, maintenance, site building and customization, and debugging, will cost a LOT more time and/or money in Drupal.
