hey. i have a very specific problem. i want www.1441.org to point to a site on blogspot, and www.1441.org/something to a different site on a differnet domain. i dont' want something.1441.org to point to a diff site. ( a subdomain) is there a service which can do that? ( something like a pagerefresh, also user should not be able to know where am i hosting the site ( i beleive term is cloaking) that is it should appear as www.1441.org/something/page.html also if i redirect www.1441.org/something to point to a diff site on a diff server, will it hamper my google ranking in anyway? it is already pagerank 2 site. any help/suggestion.
Use html redirect. Upload the file to the main domain and sub-domain. Here's the code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Your Page Title</title> <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://www.the-domain-you-want-to-redirect-to.com"></HEAD> <BODY> Optional page text here. </BODY> </HTML> Code Description: <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://www.the-domain-you-want-to-redirect-to.com"> is the part that actually does the redirecting. The number preceding the url (in this case zero) tells the browser the number of seconds to wait before redirecting to the new url. You could set this to 5 and add some optional text to your page - something like: "Please wait while we redirect you to our new site". That's it! Just copy the code, save it (i.e. save as index.html) and your html redirect will work perfectly.
alright, i can do that, but i need a server where i can direct www.1441.org alongwith sub dir to , its' not logical to buy space for 1mb of requirement you know. and also, can anyone help with cloaking, that is visitor should not know he is visiting a diff domain than www.1441.org/wall while in reality he might be visiting wallpaper.blogspot.com.
