youtube is the best for starting out,if you google tho you can find plenty of tutorials, just be specific in google in the type of images you want to create, such as 'photoshop sig tutorial' etc

on youtube there is a guy there tht is quite good, and entertaining at the same time, search for 'I suck at photoshop' on youtube

There is only one secret to achieving greatness in any digital discipline...

    That secret is caffeine.
Perhaps food... If you're in to that sort of thing.

If this is immediate- I would start with AdobeTV? online itself. Also Photoshop Lab has a basic tool overview and you can find it with google online. I took an on-line class from a community college and on campus then I explore places like forums like this to learn more complicated topics.

I think the best way to learn if you want to teach yourself is to get a good book. Deke McClelland is the best. Adobe also makes their own. they are kind of dry, but will teach you how to do it. Again from there you can go on-line to find more specific ways to do things. Or more details. But to get the basics, I think a book or class is best. Deke does allot of the tutorials at Lydia.com. Lydia is the ultimate in web learning.

Thank you guys for your kind support, I've gone through some of the tutorials here and i found it really interesting. Now i can proudly say that "I know something about photoshop"
its a very friendly tool. We can make wonders with it just by learning the basic tools. The tutorials has helped me a lot. And as my friends here at DP suggested "experiments are the best way to learn photoshop."

    Thank you very much.
