Im new to traffic but I would like to learn as much as I can about traffic. I would like to learn what type of traffic is being sold?, where it comes from?, what is the value on it?, How do you value it?, Is this traffic that is being sold for just tens of dollars the same as advertising networks sell such as adbrite and kanoodle? Ultimately would like to know where I can go and learn as much as possible. Is there another forum or ebook or can someone answer my questions. Thanks dp members. Tom
You are in the wrong section. Paid traffic can be good or bad, it depends by many factors. The first important thing is to get organic traffic from search engines.
I've bought traffic from several people on Digital point and it's all worthless. I never once bought traffic and it actually made me money or lowered my alexa rank.
I agree with tbtoyl about organic traffic. I have bought so called guaranteed traffic before and it has been crap. I am currently doing an experiment with a site that sells traffic but going by past experience I don't have much confidence. Getting organic traffic takes longer but it is the type of traffic you need. If you are advertising something that someone wants and you provide good content which entices both humans and bots then you will do ok. It is not as hard as some might have you believe but you do have to do some work. There is no such thing as a push button traffic generating machine.
