No follow means the crawler comes on that link and not follow to crawl of our site's inner pages. There are many blogs on which you can do post commenting, but if that commenting provides no follow backlink to our site then that is not useful for google search engine.
NO Follow is the link attribute introduced by Google and when Google Bot counters this attribute associates with any link will not to crawl on that. But still use from many reason such as only Google Bot not crawling but Yahoo Seeker and other SE's bot crawls.No Follow links gives traffic to the web sites.
Search for SEO toolbar where you can install in your firefox or whatever browser you use. Whenever you open a page then the link will get highlighted so that you can know it is a no-follow...
People tend to not concern too much about "nofollow" for various reasons. The main one is that google is the only search engine that has the nofollow rule. However, the search engine bots crawl each other, so if yahoo were to crawl your site and google then crawls yahoo, you're links will get picked up. Flickr has a nofollow policy on all links, but they get picked up all the time. nofollow really only slows down the crawl/pickup rate, which is why it's good to use to deter spammers and such...
