Because I want to get more Adsense Ads that match the page content, so i turn off the followings: Interest-based Ads Preference Third Party Ads Preference Social Ads Preference However, when i surf my own sites, i still discover ads are shown up because i visited those sites before, not because the ads match the page content. Why it is like that ?
Personally I would just activate/enable everything and not bother with that, instead I4d focus on my job as a publisher and let adsense do its job as a contextual ad network.
>> let adsense do its job as a contextual ad network yes, if we believe Adsense are expert in making publishers more money, and making more money is more important than showcase matching ads. And my traffic is not big to compare turn on vs turn off. But, currently seeing the same "boring" unrelated adsense ads appearing again and again on my sites or other people's adsense sites. i don't feel the arrangement is good.
Yeah but what you don't seem to understand is that it doesn't matter what YOU see, since it is not what other people see, that's the point. An adsense block content is a little different for each person for a single page depending on living country, maybe browser language, past browsing history, etc.. We don't know exactly all the information they use to target that adsense block with the ads which make them (and publishers) more money. But don't waste your time thinking through your own eyes/experience/preferences. Instead forget about it, admit that you don't know what is best and what people see anyway, and focus on your job as a publisher.
