want to change wordpress domain but not the host

    hello,
    i have wordpress installed on my domain zemtv.com and now i want to shift the whole website to zemtv.net .. i have tried copying the database and errors came.. i don't want to take any risk .. what is step by step confirmed process

    Sounds like you are asking for a lot of extra work you don't need to do. Just log on to your Registrar and "Point" to the zemtv.net to the existing zemtv.com

    If you really must have the .net then send your host a message. All you have to do is back up your domain then reupload it. Most hosts will do this for you. You may have to change a path statement in your configuration files. I can't remember exactly where... but it's only one or two pretty simple changes.

    Well just back-up the website from your cPanel then restore on the new domains folder and change url on the Wordpress database from mysql.

    All you can do is:

    1. Setup Wordpress on zemtv.net using CP > Fantastico.
    2. Export MySQL zemtv.com db using CP > phpAdmin
    3. Import MySQL dcb to zemtv.net WP db via CP > phpAdmin
    4. Edit table wp_option table and replace zemtv.com with the zemtv.net

    That's all.

    i think all you have to do is setup your new domain .net in your hosting. then go to your .com domain hosting backup all your file there and upload it back to your .net domain hosting. that's all
