    Hi bloggers,
I am using blogger's sub domain. But now i realize that getting own domain is more important.
It gives you more traffic than sub domain.

Help me if you have any other point before buying a new domain.

    Thanks in Advance.

Try to get a domain thats title relates to the topic of your blog, or if you want you can always brand it. Go to a registrar such as godaddy and register the domain name, then it is really easy from there to set it up in blogger. If you need more blogging help visit http://www.netsuccessblog.com

Oh and try to get a .com domain, they are the most common and trusted!

Go to the settings tab in your dashboard, click on publishing then click on switch to: Custom Domain, now if you have your domain ( i mean if you registered it before ) click on Switch to advanced settings put your domain and save the settings.
You need to change the DNS of your domain to point it to your blog check this out
    http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=58317
If you don't have your domain yet you can buy one from your blogger blog check this page
    http://www.google.com/support/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=76543
This way your domain will be directed to your blog without your interfere, you don't need to do anything about the DNS settings.
In both ways it is very easy task to do.

I suggest that do NOT use .net/.org...etc...only use .com

You will find it's not easy to have a good name...since all good names are taken....

You can try to combine the char with number to create your own .com domains....like use 4 instead of for/four....2 instead of to/two...........to make the domain short........

I totally agree with u tht blogs with .com gves u a lot more traffic than with subdomain.
before buying a domain u shd take care tht domain name is relevant to content of the site, another thing is try to keep the domain name as short as possible.
And then u r ready to rock

Be careful of one thing... Once you find the "perfect" domain name, be prepared to buy it! People are scanning the Net for hits on domain names and they will buy it out from under you then return it before the time runs out for them to do so, or they keep it and squat on it.

What I mean is don't go fishing for a domain name unless you are prepared to buy it right then and there.

When you are ready for hosting and help let me know. I sell the best hosting for less, and I will help you out. ;)
