I really envy you neil , I have had a few people ask me if I do web desgns and I have pretty much all the time referred them to you..I myself am very crappy when it comes to designing websites..I actually get bored half way. I loved coolwanz's work as well, if he ever took part in a contest I would pretty much assume he is going to win it >_> Anyway I am just 15 so I guess I got a lot to learn, a few more years atleast..after that I'll come back here and hopefully be able to design something that is atleast half as good as what you make
i know how you feel half way through it starts to drain you - what i do is stick music on - like really lively dance music then it wakes me up - well plus im usually always full of a buzz - i tend to have 15 coffees a day plus energy drinks - i should of had a heart attack by now - my sleeping routine went mad and always does ive got it pretty much back on track - i used to get up at 4 in the afternoon and go to bed the following day at lunch time - oh i know what i want to know i cant work it out - how do you make them wrap around buttons so it looks like the button is holding onto the background - like to learn that then ill adapt it into my work.
Is that directed towards me?? What wrap around buttons ?? Edit: I also got a recent webdesign work for an NGO, they dont have a logo..no concept..no colors I dont understand what they expect me to do
anyone who knows how to do it - well if you know what the business type is just have a look at similar sites - choose standard colours - make a simple logo - if they want a specific website they should give specific details.
Hey Neil mind if you give me some advice? Since your a really great, successfull designer could give some tips and hints 1) What's the best way to earn money through web design? 2) Is there any sites you reccommend for begginer to advance designers? 3) What do you think is the best program to design web designs with? ...um can't think more... but it would be really helpfull if you anwsers these for. My mind's gone blank, and can't think (>_<)
1) - 99 designs is good for making money from your websites - or you can create wordpress themes and sell them as PLR or MRR packages - so they resell over and over - create a template(s) add your link at the bottom of the page - make it so it cannot be deleted very easily using encryption do a google such for things such as "web design blog"+"add comment" - post a comment relevant to the blog - but also add ive made this template blah blah download here - also do this on design forums - this link on the template should lead back to a page where you are either selling something - have a ppv ppi ppa ppc - whichever one. share that template on p2p and warez forums - - or put post it all over warez template forums and have the link download from somewhere like sharecash or uploading.com and make money from the downloads and also have the link on the template. 2) tutorialized.com is awesome - i learnt html from there along with a load of tips - go to deviant art look at the art work look how its made up and try to recreate what you see - practise over and over with these effects and improve them. 3) Fireworks i dont care if everyone uses Photoshop to make web sites - its not designed for that use - fireworks is - for coding i have microsoft expression web - dont like dreamweaver seems old skool to me - always use illustrator to make interesting layouts and pass them back and forth between fireworks and illustrator.
Thanks, Once I think of more I'll ask you Thanks, Tajio EDIT: Microsoft Expression web, does it code the designs? I'm not a coder you see.
Best web deswigning experiments. dont miss any step to forward. use flash mostly to attract more visitors.
Can i ask you somthing that might sound stupid, was is the ame of the font thats being used on the internet. I can never find the perfect one.
I just use standard fonts 3 i use - arial - franklin gothic and century gothic as shown below - with arial - sometimes i have the font smooth - sometimes i prefer it sharper. .
I'm especially impressed with the red templates, as red is a hard color to work with and can quickly turn into an eyesore. Great job and good luck on future improvements!
Get into programming like you suggested. Design only work is hit and miss. there are some talented designers that will work for pitance. Dilutes the whole market
