Want to analyze my traffic stats to see where an increase came from

I was just checking my Google AdSense stats, and found that for one of my subdomains, impressions jumped from a few hundred a day to 21,000+ yesterday.

This increase is pretty substantial, although it may be a one off, but I'd like to find out what happened so I can duplicate it if possible. I'd like to analyze my web stats to see if they can provide any info, but I've only got Webalizer on my server, and I don't know how to use it properly.

Yes, it would. Unfortunately, it isn't installed, and I don't know if it would be able to give the right info, if it's installed after the fact.

    Hi,

Do you have the log files for the days of intrest ?

If yes, you can still process them with AWStats.

By the looks of it, no. The only raw logs I can find are todays.

Check the list of referrers in Webalizer. You will probably see that another site pointed a large number of visitors to your site.

Unfortunately, the largest referrer is Direct Request. Not very helpful, and I'm sure that's where the rise occurred.
