Yea, godaddy is one of the most trusted registrars , if you use a coupon OYH3 it should cost you 6.95. Good luck.

    I will rather say NO
Lots of problems while transferring domain.
Lots of hidden costs as you will be asked to buy other stuff also.
Poor support - rather very poor - it took me 7 months to get 1 domain transferred from them. They do'nt allow transfer within 60 days of any modification done to account at any given time and their secret key emailing system does not work properly:(

All that is my personal experience.
    Good luck.

I am not sure. To me, it seems ok. Their policy of support is to feedback within 24 hours and so far, the support meet this requirement for me whenever I have doubts or seeking for their assistance.

If you have doubts, I would suggest that you could 'test' it by asking them some queries and doubts and see their response time...

I've transferred several domains to and from GoDaddy and never had a problem. All you need to do is follow their instructions. Domains are transferred in less than one hour--even to other registrars.

I've used Register.com and Network Solutions and had bad experiences with both. I would never use either of these guys again.

Use the discount code that ORZ provided. It saves you money.

Watch out for all of the crap services that GoDaddy and most other registrars try to get you to add on to an order. Most are worthless.

As I read this you have a split vote. Let me break the tie.

I fully agree with what TechEvanglist said above. I have used GD for about 6 years with ZERO problems.

I will throw one more good vote in for GoDaddy. I have transferred and received many names from their service and find it easy to use and no problems whatsoever.

Godaddy is fine as far as registration goes, they are ok, but if you like to register your domain you might want to checkout DirectDot.com great prices as well.

It's Go Daddy for me also, they answer the phone and I have had consistently good support. Reg, forwarding, cname, transfers... all of it.
    Coupon helps.
Read and follow their rules is key point as mentioned above.
When ordering there is a way to bypass all the 'add-ons'. Look for the way to "check-out now".

I've heard that if anyone files a SPAM compliant and you're hosted with GoDaddy, GoDaddy will shut you down first and ask questions later.

I've never had a problem with them, but they're so big, and they STILL don't have a toll free number. I'm sorry, if you're calling me for either support or to buy something, I don't think you should have to pay for the call.

They also charge you extra to hide the WhoIs info. Namecheap is a SMIDGE cheaper, and they have the WhoIs guard for FREE-FREE-FREE!

I have a "9 to 5" at a prestigious law firm in my area. They routinely check on their employees, as anything we do "reflects upon image of XYZ Law Firm". It's none of their *bleep* business what I'm doing on the side (unless I was a porn queen or something; and then I could understand that). I don't want anyone to find out that I own this or that domain name.

    Just my two cents.

    Have a Happy Valentine's Day.

There are plenty negative feedback about GoDaddy at other forums as well.
We also have terrible experiences with their domain name registration and transfer.

Godaddy is one of the famous & trusted domain registers.

there are few negative feedbacks (specially regarding not being helpful when domain scamming), but few negative comments are common for most of the famous sites :)

few negative comments VS millions of satisfied customers = Positive (just ignore the negative comments as those are mostly done by other companies promoting their services)

yeah, I noticed the idnrs comments, and of course, with millions of followers there are bound some negatives. The biggest thing i heard was like you said, instant shutdowns when reported for spamming and difficult transfers. I ended up getting some from godaddy and some from name.com. Name is very clean and simple compared to the convoluted interface of godaddy, but other than that, there's no difference thus far.

I registere my domain qwhosting.com just to test GoDaddy's services.
We initiated transfer process after 70 days (we are not so stupid that we will not follow their instructions).
They were suppose to send domain secert code by email. It does not come for a week. We again tried and waited. Nl email. We contacted there support almost 50 times every day, no reply. We went to their live support, got the answer to get secret code through email. We again tried several times. Many times, live support did not reply for hours and finally disappeared. They hang up phone calls. Finally it took us almost 7 months to get domain secret code. They released this domain after 7 days. Domain history can be verified from any tool. All the Godady agents/affiliates/staff/promoters will certainly praise their services and blame others saying others are criticising GoDaddy just to promote their services. In fact negative feedbacks are almost 70% for GoDaddy. There are several tools where it can be checked how many people are leaving GoDaddy every day due to their poor support and other things not to mention here. On the name of scam they grab any domain any time and no explanation - this looks their basic policy. I do not want to go further to discuss them and never say anyone not to join them. Better join them and then you will come to us. Not to boost or promote ourselves but this is a real fact that our almost 50% customers are those who has left this company and joined us. Anyone may have any opinion but this is our humble submission and request to everyone to join GoDaddy through the links in signatures of so-called goDaddy's happiest customers (who are basically thier agents/affiliates/managers/promoters - mostly paid).

    Thanks and best regards.
