    Hey all,

I'm planning on starting a forum. Not right now, but somewhere in the future. Before I do that, I would like to get some more information on forums which I could not get from most other sites, so I thought I should ask these two questions here:

*How many MySQL databases does a forum require to operate normally?

*How much MB/GB does a forum use? (I know this depends on users and posts, but perhaps someone has some general information?)

    Thanks for your help!

A Freshly Installed vBulletin forum is less than 10 mb.

atleast have 2-4 databases atleast , any host would provide that much, just for a safer side, and space you might need like 500mb to start off.

Well, thanks, both of you, but could someone explain the discrepancy between those two answers?

    One forum / One dB

As for size a 50-150 MB will get you going

Transfer up to 3 GB should also last until you get somewhere..
