I am planning to launch a new website ( a forum ) on ISLAM the domain name will be www.islamthepeace.com I plan it to make a forum which contains everything about islam. so i want ur suggestions that is it gud to add the forum in the main site . ie.www.islamthepeace.com or www.forums.islamthepeace.com and to add some stuffs in the main site... which is better for me ... need ur valuable suggestions please...thanks...
If it is just a forum then I would just put it on the main website. If you are going to have info on the website and then the forum separate I would go forums.islamthepeace.com or you could just do www.islamthepeace.com/forums - it's really just what you prefer.
I would create a subdomain for the forums (it's /forums either way so doesn't really matter) and throw up a portal on the main page. If you go with vBulletin for forums, I recommend getting vBAdvanced as a portal, if not, you can go with Wordpress
Agree with TheNoose ! It's always better to add it as domain.com/forums ( which will not act as a new website, but a part of your website ). Someone said subdomain - yes, why not .. But - it will be counted as a new website, instead of using a simple directory under your main domain name ( which will help you to get better/faster rankings on se's ).
but I dont have any idea yet about what to put on main site if I make forums as subdomain btw... which is best for traffic and pageranking ??
