Want $75? Can you WordPress?

I have just bought a new site - www.premiershipglory.com

Now, I don't really like the current WordPress skin, so I am setting up a contest for the DP users to make me a new skin.

There a few specs that I want for the skin. It should be easy on the eye, have a blogroll links section in the right navbar, and have a a place for links in the footer. I don't want players faces in the skin, and it should look simple but very professional. This should include a header - nothing too fancy!

It would also be nice if space for advertising was built in - right hand side navbar, below header etc...

The other part of this contest is that, upon entry, you have to send me the PSD to dan<<<@>>>>elb-group.com. With the PSD I have permission to do as I wish - sell it, bin it, or whatever. If you don't agree, please don't enter. As a thank you to everyone that enters, I will allow you to put a designer link in the footer of the PSD you designed IF I decide to get it coded.

SO let me get this straight. You want the rights to all the designs whether they win and get paid or not? If thats the case then you are simply trying to rip off 9 designers. If not then you need to explain in more details what you mean.

I am offering alot more than others offer for a WordPress design - if the design is already made, why not let me use it?!

I am not ripping 9 designers off at all. All they have to do is design a WordPress skin; then I will give them a designer sitewide backlink on the template they have made (invaluable),and I will pay to get it coded for them.

Oh yeah, and please don't hijack thread's...

 

OK, I will make this a little bit fairer.

Top blog design will get $50. (No Backlink/Designer Link)
Best of the rest (another 4) will get $10 each. (Backlink/Designer Link Given)

 

I am not hijacking your thread. I design wordpress themes and would have considered entering so I asked for a clarification on an unusual request that I thought would be (and seems it was) an unethical request of designers. Your amendment is a bit better but really should apply to ANY design you choose to use not just four runnerups (should you actually receive more than five).

 

So what you're saying is that, everyone who makes a psd template for this contest will have to give you their design regardless if they win or not? Well if that's the case you won't get very many people in this contest as this is not how a contest works. Why wouldn't that person just sell his/her design and make money off that? especially if it is a wordpress template.

It's pretty funny that people do this sort of stunt.

Generally speaking, if someone makes a design for a contest and it doesn't win, they will keep it and possibly re-use it later on for another contest/client/site of theirs. Designs can be adapted to any use, just because it would have your site name on it, doesn't mean it is there forever.

I think you should start a new contest and keep in mind we spend many hours designing and working hard to win a contest out of many designers participating, at least give the option to the designer to choose if he wants to give it away for $10 or a backlink

I would recommend you choose 1 main winner and after contest is over, try to make a deal with the rest of the designers with their templates. Don't take it any wrong, Im just trying to help because I would really like to join this contest but being fair for everyone.

Sorry wragge11 but you are insulting the designer since the first post, my designs belongs TO ME and only can belong to anyone else if they BUY IT, those are my rules and everyone has to accept it, intending to make this:

You are breaking my principles and the ownership of my work. Designer dont work for free (unless they want to)
