The concept works; the challenge is to find keywords that you can rank for on Page 1, usually those keywords with exact searches in the range of 1,000-3,000 per month and low competition. The next challenge is to write a lot of articles and periodically update the Squidoo lens with new content using more LSI keywords. Success depends on your definition of success. Is making $50 to $100 per month for each lens a success? Depends on your expectations. Is this method going to make $1,000 to $3,000 per month for each lens? I seriously doubt it. The success of any method is to find something that works for you and create a simple system to easily duplicate it a hundred times.
The problem with article marketing is now the new content farming rule brought in on Feb.2011. Ezine and other directories have tightened things up dramatically and now not only does every article have to be 400+, but you have to wait roughly three weeks to get your article checked and their approval rate is way down due to the new rules, which is tough on people who've used article marketing (myself included), as a way to leverage their marketing campaigns. Squidoo lenses are great for getting affiliate sales. I think its best for selling affiliate products such as Click bank products. The main advantage of this is that you do not need to have a website of your own. Just start some great squidoo lens with your click bank links and see how you can get yoru first sale in no time. Refer to my sig if you want more help on squidoo.
My first clickbank sale was made after I recieved a copy of the eBook that I wanted to promote, I read it from start to finish and then I posted a 1500+ review about the eBook. I read a couple eBooks on that subject matter, but only promoted the one that I believed in.
