i am planning to buy domain name. i will be using it for blogger. so can you tellme whether i will loose all my backlinks . and how does google deal with thsese sites i mean many pages have been indexed by google.
I don't know about blogger, but I recently moved a blog from free hosted wordpress, to a newly registered domain. The free hosted wordpress got a PR 4 on the last update, but the new domain is getting more traffic in its first month. You will loose everything, and have to start over, but if you re establish your reciprocals, resubmitt to the directories, and let your link partners know of the change you shouldn't miss too much of a beat. Also, once you have transfered your content, don't forget to link from the old blog, change your feedburner feed, (They have a redirect that will slowly delete your old feed, and direct new readers from the old blog to the new one), and delete most or all of the content so you aren't competing against yourself for SE results. Not to mention duplicate content. As far as indexing pages. I had no problem, but I have heard others complaining. Google bot has been all over the new domain, but, I also started with a ton of content.
Unless you move your Blogger to a new host using this domain name then all your old blogspot.com backlinks will remain valid and will work normally. This will be the case if you choose to simply redirect your new domain name to your Blogger blog, which is what I think you intend to do. If you start promoting your new domain name and attracting backlinks to that, then that too will gain PR with time even though it's just a domain name. Building up backlinks on your own domain name is actually quite a good plan because they will always be pointing at your site as long as you keep the name registered. If you decide to change your hosting in future you'll not have any trouble losing backlinks, because you can take your domain name with you.
That's pretty crafty also. Blogger doesn't have any limitations on Aff links and such does it? So this would actually make more sense.
well you will loose everything(pr etc) and you cant even do a 302 redirect because in blooger you cant add this html anywhere
