Wallpaper/Forum site

I want to start a Wallpaper site that also has a sophisticated forum software in it like maybe vB.

Anyone got any tips to get this set up? Like what should I use? CMS or a good wallpaper script?

And also where can I get the wallpapers? This is a new field for me so any help or suggestions is appreciated.

use wallpaperscript or gallery2 to create one (g2 is free and can be intergraded with vbb forums).

And I think with fair sharing wallpapers site. Everyone will share their wallpapers and you don't need update more.

 

I don't mind paying for one as long as it has all the features and it's better.

How do those compare with each other? Can wallpaperscript let you have a forum with it too?

 

Interesting. I had a project website like this before. I was using Joomla + Gallery2 + PHPBB3 forum. If you want only registered users to download/view the wallpapers, you have to 'bridge' the user database so users wouldn't need to login so many times.

 

I don't mind if non registered users download the wallpaper I just want to have a free wallpaper section and along with that a forum to go with it for like wallpaper designers and stuff like that.

I need to figure out I guess whether to go with a wallpaper script that is compatible with a forum(if they even exist) or use a CMS first.

 

What do you plan to use to monetize the site? Will you charge people to download wallpapers or place ads on your site? Depends on the answers, the platforms will be different.

 

I'm thinking of placing ads on my site, not like a fee for downloading or anything like that.

 

You can use 2gallery, 4images.de script as image gallery. They are best one. If your are using wordpress then u can try 2gallery or nextgen plugin.

Joomla can also work well. I never tried wallpaperscript.net but i see sites which are using this script and i notice that 4images gallery software has more feature than ws.

just looked at that. try SMF from Simple Machines. There is a gallery mod for it, as well as many other mods.

Also, I have plenty of walls, contact me if you need wallpapers.
