Wallly world just wants to trademark it to use only in their stores. So that other stores could not used the smiley unless they paid wally a big license fee. Can't see them getting a patent on something that is so mainstream for 30 years. Wally is not evil, just too damn big for his britches!
As always the monopoly tries to run over the little man... They should be forced to pay big royalties...
