It was announced the planned acquisition of Panoramio by Google. Panoramio is a website that enables digital photographers to geolocate, store and organize their photographs–and to view those photographs in Google Earth and Google Maps.

Now doubt that will immensely help Panoramio uploaders to get wider exposure of their photographs.

What else will photographers gain here? What might be side effects?
Will it also help the photos to appear on Google Earth faster?

    What happens now:
After a submission a photo is not forwarded to Google automatically. Photos are uploaded to Google Earth monthly – not in real time.

And after the announced merge uploading to Google Earth and Google Maps should go smoother.

Do you believe it will be like this ?

Yes, Google map will be more smart. But they might charge for some features.
