What is the site? I don't know about others, but I would not be prepared to sign up to a site that I had no idea what it was about

Design is too simple and there is not much content... that's why Google Public Service Ads are displaying.

You should add some content to the page to let your visitors know what the site is about.

Well I think you need a little more information on the page. People will want to knopw what type of site they are signing up for.
If you keep singning account to log on in your website then you know people wont think to visit your web site. Maximum people love to visit sites which are easily accessable. So i would suggest avoid complex thing and adopt easy going.
    Good Luck
