Hey guys i have started this thread to know about the W3c validation! One of my clients for whom i wrote content owns a site and the site has a PR of 5 and already a member of W3c. now that he is spending too much on the membership and wants to cancel the membership. W3c also says that they give 4 links from webpages that have a page rank of 9. But what i want to know is that is there anything that he can do with being a member of W3c and if Google gives special importance to site that is a member of W3c member?
Membership itself is not much from Google's viewpoint. They are only backlinks from a certain site which matter for Google. BUT: As much the PR9 seems to be catchy, a backlink from PR9 may bring only some PR, not position in G. Backlinks from quality, high ranked (In Google SERPs) sites may help in Google SERPs.
