In the same way that Google can keep track of inbound links to a website, is there any way that Google could keep track of bookmarks? When people have a site bookmarked or when they are navigating to it via a bookmark? Because iit seems that if a site was important enough for people to bookmakr, the site may be worth noting. Is the a means?
Almost all of those big social bookmarking site are being loved by google but it's hard to trace with regards to backlink from them for they are using "nofollow" attributes. The best things to do with them is to make posts that are pretty interesting, and also build up your network.
Thanks for the replies. Was not sure if anyone would answer or even knew an answer. It seems that bookmarking from a computer, would show the value of sites well beyond website link exchanges or referral links. Because bookmarks show what the users of the web feel is valuable.
Are you asking about people that are bookmarking you page in their favorites? Because as far as I know, there's no way for Google to track that.
If I understand you right you are wondering if social bookmarking is tracked by Google. and if that is your question the answer is yes. Because whenever you create a social bookmark you create a link back to your site. The thing with social bookmarks is all of them are not permanent so they are only good and countable as backlinks for a short period of time. This means the more you submit to social bookmark sites that don't keep them the longer they stick with Google and the other search engines.
