VPS using 90% RAM - top -s results

    Hi,

I have a 512MB RAM VPS. It's currently hosting a few HTML pages as well as WHMCS. The site loads perfectly fine, it's fast and runs smoothly. Only problem is, Webmin doesn't load anymore, someone suggested that it was because the RAM usage was so high, currently at 89.84%.

The VPS is only a cheapy, $4 per month, but it's reliable. Just needs a lot of optimization doing to it, I'll focus on Security once the RAM usage is sorted. I'm confident the RAM usage can be lowered a LOT, just needs the correct tuning and tweaking.

Basically, can anyone spot anything that shouldn't be or anything that could be improved? P.s I don't need a mail server from the site, since I'll use my Gmail account to send all mail via.

I'd love someone to help out and optimize it for me, but I don't have much to pay, since I've spent such a lot of licenses recently.

Anyway, here's the result of 'top -s' via SSH results.

    Thanks.

If clamAV is using 90MB of memory, then you still have 370MB of memory that is being unaccounted for. It depends on what these processes are. You may have 20 essential processes all averaging together to consume 18.5MB each. It just depends on what you need and what you don't need. What can be optimized, what cannot.

If you don't need clamAV, you can disable it and save 90MB of memory.

I think you need to re-evaluate your website needs coz the way I am seeing it you are running too many process I am sure some of them are not required. Also I don't think your really need a Clam AV except your are running a free File Hosting.
