    i got the following answer:
    Boris,

Your RAM available is determined by the size of the privvmpages parameter. vmguarpages shows the RAM that you are guaranteed when the system is out of RAM which does not mean anything inside your VPS because our nodes are never committed to the level that the parameter is used.

The only parameter that you are hitting the maximum on is kmemsize. The last number shows the number of failures in kmemsize allocations which is quite a high number. If you upgrade the system RAM we will upgrade this parameter for you also. However, the problem appears to be with an installed application as most of our VPS customers never hit the max kmemsize that your VPS is set at.

    kmemsize 10656740 10674452 17510400 19456000 406245

Please let us know if you have any more questions.

can you help me decipher it?

although i got to say their tech support has tolerated me extensively as i bug them often with things that are little to do with anything other than my absence of knowledge.

Right, well that to me doesn't sound like something that a end user like yourself should have to deal with. Ask them if their able to fix it?

Just ask them if they can correct that involved parameters and also post the results stated in your OP.
