I have just got a Virtual private server. I have Plesk for adminstration abd managed to add a few domains.

The problem is that I don't know what my DNS urls are. I believe I know it and I changed the DNS at registrar but seems that they are not correct.

How do I know the DNS for my domains?

Just add that using IP number and username/password I can get to FTP for these sites.

    Please help.

You have to create a " Name server first"

Then add " A " Records to the server

    Step 1:

Go to your registar ( i.e. godaddy )
Modify the Host Summary records and add your ip and name sever name

    You can make for example

    ns1. AND ns2

Then like I said you set the ip of your server

    STEP 2

    Go into plesk,

Then go to server>Set an A record and add 2 A records

    Ns1 and ns2

    STEP THREE

Point your domains to the name server ( This is the domain you changed)

    The name servers would be

    NS1.THEDOMAINYOUCHANGED.COM
    NS2.THEDOMAINYOUCHANGED.COM

It might take a few hours for the dns to prop

I am stuck at this step one. Namecheap would accept ns1.mydomain.com as nameserver and there is no option there like "Add your IP".

There is a link to "Register nameserver" and a list of ns1,ns2, ns3.mydomain.com and it asks me to put the IP in front of it. When I put IP there and submit I get this error: Error: Root domain cannot be found., If I don't put anything in IP text box and submit I get this error: Please choose the hostname and enter the IP for registering your nameserver.

    Any idea?
