If you have something as large as that, you need clusters of servers. If you're just starting off small, a single dedicated server will do. What is your monthly budget and what hardware/software needs do you have?

You can get a low end server for the cost of some vps servers.

i'm totally new to this stuff...my site been hosting at powweb which is a share environment and it isn't really great as my site is growing.

I also found theplanet.com but it's kinda pricey for single-core $90. I'm leaning toward VPS

If you are thinking about VPS, and don't know what your doing, go with wiredtree.com. You WON'T regret it! Take it from one of their customers!

I recommend going with a dedicated server. You can start small and if you choose the right company they will be able to offer you a cluster upgrade service so that way you are able to add more servers at any time to handle the load as you grow.

IFTK Hosting is one of the many hosts that offer this service.
