I have a VPS with 1 GB RAM & 40 GB HDD. I have installed Cpanel VPS optimized on that. But however the websites have become very slow. I have just have 2 accounts & total 4 websites in 2 accounts.

When the VPS was raw I mean without CPanel, sites were running quite fast. Now with CPanel VPS optimized, I could see the difference in performance. Please help. Below
details for top c & ps auxf command output.

I run a mail server, DNS server as well.

cPanel needs not more than 128MB of RAM and 1GB is more than enough. Looking at the output of top and ps, it is clear that non of the process is abusing the resources. It looks like as if another VPS on the same node your VPS is on, is abusing resources thus slowing down other VPS'es. The output from your VPS shows no problems at all. I would have forwarded the output to the hosting provider and have had him check his main node.

As madaboutlinux said, it seems like the main server from your provider is very low in specs or another vps on the same node is getting abused.

Would suggest asking your host about it or move to another respectable provider.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I have other VPS as well which is 512 MB RAM which as as my primary DNS & this 1 GB VPS is acting as secondly DNS. Not sure other will eat up the resources.

Never use Cpanel for VPS even if its optimised, try reinstalling with Kloxo it will work fine, also in your case it is the problem with the hosting company not with Cpanel
