Is liked by google prob. because it has many links from other health sites not from SEO sites or blogs I mean I am not a SEO expert but I read many articles and on forums I have seen threads and almost everyone is saying that links from relevant pages / sites are better than links from page with other content than your site.
I like the "You build it, they will come" method. Some people spend too much time making there sites for search engines, getting high PR, and hiding ads for visitors to click. Big sites like Google, MSN, about, and wikipedia don't exchanged links or make posts to advertise about there site... Submitting you site to directories takes too much time... the same goes for find people to trade with. Also it doesn't bring in a lot of people. I was able... well it wasn't me, so my site was able to go from start-up to 1,000 visitors a day in its first month. That may not sound like a lot but it was a specialized site. I did not marketing, no trading, and I didn't have it in posts I made.
#2 to start the site off, then #3. You have to be in the search engine in order for them to find the good content to link to.
Best to do a little of everything. Create good Content. Use a wide veriety of methods to get links to your new pages. Don't stick to just one method of link building, you never know when Google will find a way to null out a certain type of link. A good example is reciprical links. Worked very well in the past but Google is specifically looking for ways to counter act them. If that is all you have ever done eventually you will be in trouble.
Great UNIQUE content. As always said Content is THE KING. Make it informative so that readers get something out of it if they spend time in reading it. For SEO - make it keyword rich - use variations of keywords - e.g. design, designing, design etc.
I believe that Bid for Position directories will do well since you only pay for the popularity. And the popular directories are normally the ones getting the higher bids while providing permanent listings.
I think the best way to build links is based on how you advertise and market your site. A good link bait campaign is more direct and effective than content itself. You can have a good content, but you need to think how people can know about it. Big companies spend a lot of money to advertise aggressively, not via SEO. So, they get lots of natural backlinks and traffic. To me, that should be the best way. In additoin to that, doing SEO would be extremely effective then. But most webmasters simply go for cheap meathods as we do not have much money Among the choices, I like software offer or any free things. People tend to link to you if you offer those... the thing is you need to promote your free stuff first!
Myspace did do advertisements. I think for the major sites building links (and perhaps buying them) is part of a larger promotion strategy. Ultimately it's not just about getting the search engines interested, but also to get people interested. Where people go, se's will follow.
I made a vbulletin skin and got some good backlinks that way. The thing is people often take your link off even though you express that they cannot do that if they use your skin.
