Hi All: What, in your opinion, is a good sheer volume of clicks in a 24 hour period? In other words, if I were to say to you, "I got [X] number of clicks today on my site," what would "X" have to be in order for you to reply, "Wow, that's impressive!" I'm trying to gauge the progress of my AS strategies so any and all input appreciated. AmCy
It depends on your traffic. If you said I got 10 clicks today then I would say I'm sorry, but if you got 10 clicks and had 11 visitors then I would say, teach me everything you know.
Yes, yes. But at this point in my AS career, the #1 priority for my developed sites is not click ratios but actual clicks. Does anyone know where I am coming from? Can I get some love? AmCy
The question is just too general. One of my sites gets only 20 clicks a day but makes $15 bucks from that (educational theme). My investment in that site was not more than $500. For this particular site 20 clicks a day is very good. On some other pages on another site of mine, I get over 200 clicks a day but only $5 from those 200. So, if you give us a bit more detail, we can tell you what number of clicks can be considered impressive for your particular site.
You see, for me, the sheer volume of clicks measures 2 factors that I am most concerned about: 1) the effectiveness of ad placement and color schemes 2) the overall traffic coming into the site. Oh well. I guess I'm on my own here AmCy
I average only little less than 200 clicks on a average, and make $.6 per click... Its surely better than getting 1000 clicks worth $.05 per click..
Yes, you are on your own because the number of clicks means nothing unless you compare it to the number of visitors your site gets.
Don't get me wrong, I understand 110% where all of you are coming from. But for me--from my perspective--even if I am earning $0.01 per click for one of my sites, and I am getting 1500 clicks per day on that site, I am happy, because I have been successful @ achieving the 2 most important factors to me, i.e. the traffic and the ad effectiveness. In this example I have just presented, I can then tweak my content so that those same 1500 clicks per day can earn a lot more per click, because I have confidence in my ability to do so. <crickets_chirping> Anybody with me? Anyone? </crickets_chirping> AmCy
Yup, I understand completely. But, you see, the 500,000 click could easily be on one my sites that is all forum, and we all know how forum sites get lower than average clicks. I guess it's all about the bottom, bottom line for me. All right, then. I guess I'm cruisin' alone here. No problem. I'm off to try and exorcise the little green alien that has apparently taken over my brain. Wish me luck! AmCy
I got more than 1,000 clicks but average per click is just USD 0.03, I really have no idea on how to make my site targeting a high paying keyword.
Right, and if the AS angel descended upon you, waved her magic wand and miraculously gave you all the knowledge you needed to turn those $0.03 clicks into $5.00 clicks, wouldn't you feel pretty darn great that you already have the hardest part down, i.e. the 1,000 clicks per day? Ok, alien, you can get back in my head now. AmCy
I think you got it all wrong. The number of clicks tell you nothing about traffic and the ad effectiveness. Ad Effectiveness = CTR = number of click/visit and NOT actual number of clicks. Number of clicks also does not tell you much about site traffic. If I get 1,000,000 click on ads but CTR is at .00001%, I would not call that an effective ad. Your may have a very high traffic site but terrible conversion rate for ad clicks. I think that your first priority is to get CTR as high as you can. This would indicate that your ads are effective. Now get as many visitor as you can to the site and watch your income soar.
I'm having trouble understanding how this information is useful by itself. Yesterday I got 1,900 clicks and was dissapointed. (the previous day was 2100) yet we have a peer in this group who would be happy with 10. An individual number is never good or bad. The quality of an individual mectric can only be determined when it is compared another metric..
Did anyone mention that clicks on their own mean nothing? But just to show we care about you... X = 37 <- my 'WOW 4 U' factor. Happy now?
I agree that the only way to effectively measure "click volume" is with CTR percentages. It is better in the long run though to work on building traffic first, then increased CTR.
