Some time ago i started a webmaster directory which has really grown very well and is now predicted a PR6 in the April GBPR. Owing to this fact i thought maybe it was time to add to my site and introduce a blog that would cover various topics relating to webmasters, computers and the internet. Having read up quite a bit on blogs it is specified that the first 2-3 days are the most important and that when you do launch a blog you should launch it with at least 5 good entries so as to set the standard and let visitors know what your blog is about and what sort of information it will hold in the future. As part of this process im having a wordpress template coded (based on a new directory design that will be launched along side it) and i have secured interviews with a number of different website owners including the Aviva Directory, United Hosting, EWebscapes Blog Design Studio etc which will be used as the launching content for the blog - the idea to obviously have at least one article/interview that will appeal to everyone within the broad webmaster, computer and internet community. So having launched my blog with its content, what should my next step be? Should i submit to reddit, digg, smartwire and other similar sites of this kind... if so is there a comprehensive list somewhere, or should i submit to small article submission directories? Alternatively i was thinking of article submission services, are there any good ones out there or (as with directory submission services) is this really something that most people don't do as if you want something doing right you should do it yourself? Any suggestions or ideas would be highly appriciated...
I am starting to think the more you do by hand the better. It may take an hour or two or 3 or 4 but it often pays off over automated services.
